TRUTH | German Expressionism

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the overwhelming division and fear in the world felt suffocating. Families and communities were torn apart, and uncertainty clouded the future. Amidst this darkness, I wondered how honest I could be with God about my anger, doubts and fears.
As I painted with a heavy heart, I sensed God’s presence reminding me: “I’m still in control, no matter what the world says.” This moment of clarity flooded me with hope. Inspired by the emotional intensity of German Expressionism, which captures raw struggles and despair, I realized that while life may feel chaotic and uncertain, God's purpose remains steadfast.
In the painting, I pressed yellow paint into the corner as a reminder not to lose hope, even in dark times. Through the chaos, light persists—symbolizing the enduring truth that God’s plan is always at work, even when we cannot see it.
"Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4: 6-7
